| The Alcohol Abuse Deterrent Program
has made a big difference in our community. Rather than only punish
the crime, AADP is designed to protect the community by eliminating
the further dangers associated with addiction. So far, the program
has kept over 2500 potential drunk drivers off of Allen County roads.
With AADP, 90% of the defendants stay dry for three years. Defendants
can remain employed keeping them and their families out of the welfare
system. By giving our courts a viable alternative to incarceration,
AADP also helps to alleviate the overcrowding of our jails. |
Of
the people who satisfactorily complete the AADP program, only 1
in 10 re-enters the legal system due to a drug or alcohol related
offense.
Eight
of 10 people who don't finish the program or have a unsatisfactory
release, will re-enter the legal system due to a drug or alcohol
related offense.
