| Counseling for alcohol-related problems is essential
to break the cycle of addiction and to continue to remain abstinent.
AADP provides case management services including medical supervision
and counseling referrals for all that participate. All clients participate
voluntarily. Referrals to the program come from a variety of sources
including employers, doctors, family members and the courts. At
times, the participant may initiate contact with AADP.
All participants begin the program with a 2 1/2 hour
orientation meeting. During this time they are medically evaluated
to determine if they are eligible to receive the Antabuse. If deemed
eligible, the prescription is written. Participants are then required
to take the medication under close medical supervision three times
each week. AADPs medical staff includes a team of local professionals
and physicians. |
